IIT-JEE 2027 Preparation Timeline: A Month-by-Month Plan

Cracking JEE is less about studying 14 hours a day and more about following a plan consistently for two years. Here is a simple timeline that works for most students.

Class 11: build the foundation (April - March)

  • April-July: Kinematics, laws of motion, basic organic chemistry, sets and functions.
  • August-November: Work-energy, rotation, chemical bonding, quadratic equations, sequences.
  • December-March: Thermodynamics, equilibrium, calculus basics, plus school exams.

Class 12: complete and revise (April - January)

  • April-August: Electrostatics, current electricity, organic chemistry II, integral calculus.
  • September-November: Modern physics, coordination compounds, vectors and 3D, probability.
  • December-January: Full revision and two mock tests every week.

The mock-test rule

From December of Class 12, take at least two full-length mocks every week and spend more time analysing mistakes than taking the test.

Tip: join a weekly live doubt clinic so small doubts never pile up.

Frequently asked questions

Ideally at the start of Class 11, though focused students can still do well starting in Class 12.

Aim for 40-60 full-length mocks in the final six months, with careful analysis of each.
