The platform

TutorPapa connects learners with independent tutors and offers recorded courses and live classes. Tutors are independent professionals; private tuition arrangements are between the learner and tutor.

Accounts

You must provide accurate information and keep your password secure. Learners under 18 should use TutorPapa with a parent or guardian.

Payments & refunds

Course, live class and plan prices are shown in INR (and USD for international learners). Recorded courses may be refunded within 7 days if less than 30% has been watched; live classes up to 24 hours before start.

Tutor bookings & cancellation

Sessions booked through TutorPapa can be cancelled or rescheduled free of charge up to 24 hours before the start time. Later cancellations by the learner may incur a fee of 50% of the session price. If the tutor or TutorPapa cancels, the learner is always refunded in full. Every cancellation is recorded.

Platform commission (tutors)

TutorPapa charges tutors a platform commission of 20% of the amount paid for each course sale, live class seat or tutor booking. The commission is deducted automatically when payment is received, and the remaining amount is credited to the tutor's earnings. Earnings are held for 7 days to cover refunds and then become available for payout. If a sale is refunded, the related earnings and commission are reversed. A different rate may be agreed in writing with individual tutors.

Children & safeguarding

Learners under 18 need a parent or guardian's consent, which we record. All tutors complete ID, qualification and background checks, accept our safeguarding policy and pass an interview before they are approved. Concerns can be reported any time at Report a concern; complaints go through our grievance process.

Content

Course content is licensed for your personal use only and may not be recorded, shared or resold.

Reviews & conduct

Reviews must be honest and respectful. We may moderate or remove content that breaks these rules.

Liability

We work hard to verify tutors but cannot guarantee specific results. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid TutorPapa for the relevant service.

Grievance Officer

Complaints about the platform, a tutor, a payment or content can be raised with our Grievance Officer through the grievance redressal process.
