Ahmedabad combines a strong business culture with a growing focus on science and engineering. Families here look for tutors who are clear, disciplined and good at exam preparation, whether for commerce, science or languages. If you are an experienced teacher in Ahmedabad or Gandhinagar, TutorPapa lets you register and receive requests for home tuition, online classes or both.
Boards and subjects in Ahmedabad
The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) is followed by many students, in both Gujarati and English medium. CBSE schools are widespread, and there are ICSE and international schools, mainly in the western parts of the city.
Requests that come up often
Commerce: Accountancy, Economics, Statistics and Business Studies for Classes 11 and 12, and early support for students thinking about the CA Foundation.
Science stream Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology, with GUJCET, JEE and NEET preparation.
Class 9 and 10 Maths and Science for GSEB and CBSE.
English and spoken English, especially for students moving from Gujarati to English medium.
Gujarati and Hindi for school students.
Choosing your area
Home tutors often focus on clusters such as Satellite, Bodakdev and Prahlad Nagar, Navrangpura and Paldi, Maninagar and Vastral, or Chandkheda and Gandhinagar. Staying close to home makes back-to-back evening classes realistic.
Who can register as a TutorPapa tutor
We keep the bar clear and the same for everyone, because parents trust the tutors they find through us. Parents in Ahmedabad often ask for proof of experience, so verified specialists are well placed.
Subject specialist: you must be a genuine specialist in the subject or domain you want to teach, not someone willing to cover anything.
At least 2 years of teaching experience: a minimum of two years teaching students, whether in a school, a coaching institute, a college or as a private tutor.
Verification: ID verification, qualification verification and a background verification are completed before your profile goes live, along with agreement to our safeguarding policy.
Demo lesson: a short demo lesson so our team can see how you explain a topic and handle a student's questions.
Home and online tuition in Ahmedabad
Many Ahmedabad parents prefer home tuition for board years and younger children. Commerce and entrance students often find online sessions efficient, particularly for doubt clearing before exams. You can offer one or both modes.
Moving between mediums and streams
A common situation in Ahmedabad is a student who studied in Gujarati medium up to Class 10 and moves to English medium in Class 11, often while also choosing between Science and Commerce. These students need a tutor who can bridge the language gap and rebuild confidence quickly. Another is the commerce student who wants to understand Accountancy properly, not just memorise formats, because they plan to pursue CA or a business degree. If either of these is where you shine, describe it in your profile. Specific, honest descriptions help families choose and help us match you well.
How registration works
Register on the Become a Tutor page with your name, mobile number and email.
Complete your portfolio: photo, a short note about you, subjects, classes, boards and exams, city or online preference, experience, qualifications, a demo video link and your availability.
Pass the safety checks: ID, qualification and background verification, the safeguarding policy and a short demo lesson.
Go live: once verified, your profile appears in the tutor finder, and you start receiving student requests that match your subjects, classes and location.
After your profile goes live
Keep your availability, subjects and areas up to date from your tutor dashboard, so the requests you receive stay relevant. Respond to new requests promptly, and agree the schedule and goals with the student or parent at the start. Good communication and steady progress are what lead families to recommend a tutor to others.
