A Physics tutor explains rotational motion on a whiteboard to a JEE aspirant.

Most JEE and NEET aspirants already attend a coaching institute or follow an online programme. What many of them still need is a specialist who can sit with them one-to-one, find the gaps and fix them. If you have taught Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Biology at entrance level, TutorPapa can connect you with aspirants across India.

What aspirants look for in a personal tutor

  • Doubt clearing: working through the problems a student got stuck on in class or in a test.

  • Concept rebuilding: going back to fundamentals in topics such as rotational motion, electrostatics, organic reaction mechanisms, calculus or genetics.

  • Test analysis: reviewing mock tests to separate careless errors from real gaps.

  • Board and entrance balance: keeping Class 11 and 12 board preparation on track alongside entrance study.

  • Foundation courses for Classes 8 to 10 students starting early.

Subjects and exams

JEE Main and Advanced

Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Advanced aspirants need tutors comfortable with multi-concept, higher-difficulty problems. Related exams such as BITSAT and state engineering entrances (MHT CET, KCET, TS EAPCET, WBJEE) are often requested alongside.

NEET UG

Biology, Physics and Chemistry, with NCERT-based Biology at the centre. Tutors who can make Physics approachable for medical aspirants are especially valued. Our blog's high-scoring NEET Biology chapters and month-by-month JEE plan show how TutorPapa talks to aspirants.

TutorPapa also hosts entrance-focused live classes and JEE courses, where experienced faculty can reach groups of students.

Who can register as a TutorPapa tutor

We keep the bar clear and the same for everyone, because parents trust the tutors they find through us. For JEE and NEET, specialism means teaching entrance-level problems, not only board-level content.

  • Subject specialist: you must be a genuine specialist in the subject or domain you want to teach, not someone willing to cover anything.

  • At least 2 years of teaching experience: a minimum of two years teaching students, whether in a school, a coaching institute, a college or as a private tutor.

  • Verification: ID verification, qualification verification and a background verification are completed before your profile goes live, along with agreement to our safeguarding policy.

  • Demo lesson: a short demo lesson so our team can see how you explain a topic and handle a student's questions.

Coaching institute faculty, independent tutors and experienced school teachers who have prepared entrance students are all welcome.

Home or online for entrance students

Aspirants have little spare time, so many prefer short, focused online sessions they can fit between coaching and self-study. Others, especially in Classes 11 and 12, prefer a tutor at home in the evenings. You can offer one or both, and set the hours you are available.

Your demo lesson as an entrance tutor

For the demo, choose an entrance-level topic in your subject and solve one or two problems the way you would with a student, explaining the reasoning, common traps and shortcuts that are actually reliable. A JEE Maths tutor might work through a definite integration problem; a NEET Physics tutor might explain a concept from current electricity and then solve an NCERT-based question. We look for accuracy, clarity and how well you diagnose a student's mistake. It also helps to tell us how you track a student's progress across mock tests.

How registration works

  1. Register on the Become a Tutor page with your name, mobile number and email.

  2. Complete your portfolio: photo, a short note about you, subjects, classes, boards and exams, city or online preference, experience, qualifications, a demo video link and your availability.

  3. Pass the safety checks: ID, qualification and background verification, the safeguarding policy and a short demo lesson.

  4. Go live: once verified, your profile appears in the tutor finder, and you start receiving student requests that match your subjects, classes and location.

After your profile goes live

Keep your availability, subjects and areas up to date from your tutor dashboard, so the requests you receive stay relevant. Respond to new requests promptly, and agree the schedule and goals with the student or parent at the start. Good communication and steady progress are what lead families to recommend a tutor to others.
